Attar descriptions are full of notes such as musk, oud, amber and saffron. Here is what each one actually smells like, so you can choose attars with confidence.

Soft, clean and skin-like, like fresh laundry or warm skin. Musk lasts well and blends with almost everything. Try WHITE MUSK or MUSK SILK. More in What Is White Musk?

How Notes Develop
Attars unfold over time: lighter notes appear first, and deeper notes such as oud, amber, musk and sandalwood last longest. Learn more in Fragrance Families and Notes Explained.
